As the president and chief economist for NAHB, David Crowe is in charge of predicting trends in the housing market and economy. In addition, he also helps analyze the home building industry and consumer preferences through research and analysis. David also studies government polices that have an effect on housing through his microeconomic analysis as well as helped develop a new model for determining the impact and cost of building new homes.
David served as the Senior Vice President for Regulatory and Housing Policy become he became the Chief Economist. However, before he worked with NAHB he was the Deputy Director of the Division of Housing and Demographic Analysis for HUD. In addition, he has also served on the Census Bureau’s and HUD’s federal advisory committees.
David received his PhD in Economics at the University of Kentucky and and has been able to use it quite effectively in his field.
