E.J. Burke

E.J. Burke is Executive Vice President and Group Head of KeyBank Real Estate Capital in KeyCorp’s Corporate Bank, with responsibility for KeyBank Real Estate Capital.

Previously, E.J. served as head of KeyBank Real Estate Capital Markets for Key where he was responsible for all off-balance sheet capital markets, activities, including mezzanine, equity, commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), Agency and Life Company products. He also served as managing director of Key’s Commercial Mortgage Division. Under E.J.’s leadership, Key’s CMBS program grew to become a top-5 bank conduit and one of the largest commercial mortgage loan servicers in the United States.

Prior to joining KeyBank, E.J. was president and a founding member of Kansas City-based National Realty Funding, LC – a master, primary and special servicers as well as an originator/ seller of commercial mortgage loans for securitization – that was acquired by KeyCorp in 2000.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College, an MBA from Oklahoma City University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. E.J. serves on the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and vice-chair of the MBA’s Board of Directors. E.J. also serves as a Director of Vocational Guidance Services and as a Trustee of University Circle, Inc. in Cleveland, OH.
